A tragic incident has shaken the west coast of Tenerife, one of the Canary Islands. In the area near Los Gigantes, an enormous wave unexpectedly swept four individuals into the ocean, resulting in their deaths. Another person remains unaccounted for. Initial reports confirmed three fatalities; however, further investigations revealed the full extent of the tragedy.

Details of the Incident

This unfortunate event occurred shortly after 4 PM at one of the popular natural pools in Los Gigantes, located in Santiago del Teide. At that moment, many visitors were enjoying the area, both on the rocks and in the water, when a sudden massive wave surged in, knocking them off their feet and pulling them into the depths.

Emergency services in the Canary Islands reported that several people were swept away by the powerful tide. Among those affected were reportedly some foreign tourists, leading to heightened concerns about the incident's implications for vacationers.

Rescue Efforts and Casualties

A rescue helicopter managed to retrieve one individual alive, while another was found deceased in the water. Official sources later identified the victims as two men and a woman, with ages ranging from 35 to 55. Tragically, another woman, who had been revived and transported to a hospital, succumbed to her injuries shortly after arrival. As of now, there is no confirmation regarding the nationality of the victims.
