Speaking at 92NY on April 28, 2026, Wilson, 69, recalled telling Hanks that if anything happened to her she wanted him to be "sad for a very, very long time" — and then to "throw me a party" to celebrate her life. She explained that those feelings inspired her 2019 song "Throw Me a Party," written with Liz Rose and Kristian Bush, and even cheered, "I’m here. Yay!" during the event.
