When royals do and don’t wear tiaras

The late Queen Elizabeth, who died in 2022, famously wore tiaras on past U.S. state visits, including the Girls of Great Britain and Ireland Tiara at a 2007 White House dinner hosted by President George W. Bush and Laura Bush. Camilla has also foregone tiaras before, notably on 2023 visits to Kenya and France, while this U.S. visit is part of King Charles and Queen Camilla’s itinerary that includes Washington, New York City and Virginia for the nation’s 250th anniversary events.
