It was not immediately clear which monologue Melania meant. Days earlier Kimmel aired an "alternative" White House Correspondents' Dinner segment on April 23 that included sharp jokes about President Trump and the first lady, and a bit in which he mimicked Jeffrey Epstein. That clip ran just before a gunman opened fire at the Correspondents' Dinner on April 25.
The exchange comes after past incidents: Kimmel's show was temporarily pulled by ABC in September following comments he made about Charlie Kirk's death; he returned to the air six days later. Representatives for the White House, Kimmel and ABC were contacted for comment.
